Waichiaopu state that following reply has been received to
note verbale re railway station plant.
Chinese government has at present no intention of destroying
Canton Kowloon Railway and will naturally respect the interests
of foreign bondholders. The Chinese government is however
unable to accept responsibility for direct or indirect damage
to the interests of the parties concerned in the railway which
may in future arise from Japanese warlike activity in that area.
